Job Description:

Under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor, the Clinician will be responsible for the provision of direct clinical services to children, adult, family and co-occurring population at the Family Service Bureau office located in the Kearny and Newark offices as needed. In addition, the Clinician will provide comprehensive mental health assessments, treatment planning, individual and group counseling; facilitate linkages to treatment and other related services.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting psychosocial evaluations to assess and diagnose clients for mental health disorders using the DSM-V;
  • Facilitating individual, groups, and family therapy sessions on a weekly, biweekly or monthly session based on client need;
  • Unless clinically contraindicated, collaborating with the client to develop a written treatment plan that includes goals and measurable objectives, and is client centered within the first 3-5 sessions and every 3 months in the first year and 6 months in the 2nd year or thereafter;
  • Providing the mental health counseling services specified in the client treatment plan;
  • Maintaining overall 75% client contact productivity rating
  • Learning and utilizing the Electronic Health Record (EHR) for chart maintenance as per agency, accrediting agencies and licensing guidelines;
  • Reviewing clients throughout the treatment episode according to the ASAM PPC2-R, to determine the need for continued services, transfer, or discharge/transfer;
  • Reviewing and, where necessary, revising the client treatment plan to address ongoing problems;
  • Developing a client discharge/transfer plan to ensure movement to the appropriate levels of care;

Experience and Skills:

Qualifications:

  • Master Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or other related field.
    • Licensed in one of the following areas (LAC, LSW, LPC, LCSW, LMFT and LP)

  • SECTION 4 Experiences Required
    • Two (2) year minimum experience in mental health service.
    • Good interpersonal and organizational skills
