The Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) will provide personal care and related services, functioning under the direction of the License Practical Nurse.

  • Follow assignments of residents as directed by charge/floor nurse.
  • Assists residents to such in ADL's, i.e. eating, toileting, bathing, grooming, transferring dressing and undressing.

  • Knowledgeable of resident's care plan and needed interventions.

  • Interacts with residents, staff and family members in a helpful, professional manner.

  • Insures that call bell is always in reach of resident and answered promptly and courteously

  • Transports residents to such areas as dining areas and activity programs.

  • Takes and records vital signs and weights as directed by charge/floor nurse in a timely, accurate manner.

  • Assists with restorative therapy program as instructed by therapy department and charge/floor nurse.

  • Serves and collects food trays and feeds residents requiring help.

  • Responsible for maintaining resident's room and closets in a neat, orderly manner.

  • Changes bed linens.

  • Takes and removes residents’ soiled linens to appropriate areas for cleaning or disposal.

  • Additional responsibilities as requested by Director of Nursing/designee

  • May be assigned on a medical escort with a resident to hospital, clinic, or doctor office.
