Job Description:

As the main point of contact during evening and overnight on weekends the Resident Assistant for Harmony House, NCC’s Homeless Transition Center, plays a pivotal role in managing and coordinating essential programs and services for individuals experiencing homelessness. This position requires a compassionate and organized individual who can oversee programs designed to empower and guide clients toward stable housing and improved life circumstances. The Resident Assistant will collaborate with staff, security, and clients to ensure the effective implementation of programs, services, and safety of Harmony House.

Experience and Skills:

Responsibilities

  • Oversee evening and weekend operations of the harmony House programs.

  • Maintain and support policies and procedures in alignment with Harmony House goals.

  • Conduct a curfew tour with Security, each evening

  • Conduct Courtyard inspection every hour, Document your findings every hour in the log book.

  • Coordinate with case management services to facilitate clients' transition to stable housing.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, offering emotional support and guidance.

  • As the main point of contact during evening and weekend hours, establish supportive and positive interaction with clients and families.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and related documentation.

  • Report policy violations to security as it pertains to the clients and the safety of other clients

  • Conduct periodic client unit visits/inspection

  • Other duties as required by supervisor

  • Educational Experience

  • High School diploma, Associates Degree preferred

  • Knowledge of homelessness issues, social services, and resources available to vulnerable populations.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills,

  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to working with individuals experiencing homelessness.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, bi-lingual a plus.
