Job Description:

New Community Corporation is in search of a self-directed and experienced Controller to oversee all financial, accounting duties of the department. The successful candidate will be responsible for budget management, financial analysis, payroll, forecasting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management and financial reporting. .   • Monitor the financial performance of the company
  • Compile and analyze financial reporting packages
  • Oversee preparation of annual operating budgets
  • Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company’s procedures
  • Communicate financial metrics to senior management
  • Provide leadership and support to finance staff
  • Manage the preparation of payroll for personnel
  • Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget
  • Oversee daily operations of the finance and accounting department
  • Manage the preparation of all financial reports
  • Manage the preparation of financial outlooks and financial forecasts
  • Assist in establishing short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures (internal controls)
  • Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure to effectively accomplish the departments goals and objectives
  • Coordinate financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Additional Responsibilities
  • Represent the company externally to government agencies, re-insurers, auditors, and the general public
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff
  • Provide accounting policy orientation for new staff
  • Coordinate with the management of various departments to ensure company financial objectives are established and met

Experience and Skills:

  • Five (5) to ten (10) years’ experience in a mid to senior level finance or accounting position, a CPA (preferred)
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems and Excel.
  • Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to interact patiently, tactfully, and diplomatically with all team members.
